Hello,
The final of the first Flemish Poker Challenge is now in the books and I’m glad everything went fine.
I do had one annoying moment and the player involved just can’t let it go so I would like to check it with you guys.
Here ’s what happened:
After a break play restarted and a hand was dealt at one of the tables. There had already been action with a player betting and another player raising (preflop.). Then a player noticed that the button was still at the same place as it was before the break. This meant that 2 players posted their blinds 2 times. My ruling was based on the following idea. If I let the hand continue it started out wrong what to do afterwards…. I figured the blinds would become a mess … and the rounds of blinds(in case that play continued) would become unfair to the players who had to post 2 times. So I ruled a misdeal and players could take back there chips in the pot and we would start a new hand with the button on the right place. The one guy that raised went beserk. He stated the ruling was clearly wrong and that I knew nothing … and so on and so on …. (He had pocket aces I heard afterwards.)
He told me that if there was already action I coudn’t stop the hand … I tought it would be safe to rule a redeal … what could I do to rule better ? Was he right ?
