This rule includes the previous language about balancing tables in flop games and moving players from the big blind to the worst position.

Then a new sentence is added;  “The table to which a player is moved will be as specified by a predetermined procedure.”

What does this mean?   Could some of the participants add an explanation?   Or maybe an example of a  “predetermined procedure”?

The new TDA Rule Set that you agreed on this week is excellent.   Great job by all.

I have a few questions about some of the changes and will put them in separate posts.  This one concerns the new Rule 8.

Language now says  “At Your Seat”, a change from the previous - At the table.   Still does not require the player be  IN  the chair though.   Was there discussion on this topic?   Heard one director say it was ok if the player was  “Touching” the chair.

Also, the new language takes out the previous provision of allowing the Big Blind hand to be not immediately killed, but to wait till the action comes around to it.  Were there problems with the old method, or is this just to standardize things?

This hand happened during the 2005 WSOP main event.  At showdown the board reads JJ592.  I have 99.  My opponent bets 5000 on the river and I declare all-in — I have about 7000 (2k more than his bet) and he has me covered.  Instead of calling he just turns over his hand which happened to be JJ for flopped quads! 

I turn over my boat and everyone is clearly stunned by the hands.  The dealer starts giving him the pot and takes 5k from my chips, leaving me with 2k.  I’m pretty stunned too and then realize that my opponent never called my raise, so I bring it up – there was no doubt or argument of this, he never called my raise.  A floorperson is called over and rules that the cards must speak for themselves and the guy would have called given his hand so they award him all of my chips.

Do you agree with this ruling?  I was told by another floorperson that I should have been able to keep the remaining 2k since he never called my bet. 

One more thing… is your decision different if the guy didn’t have such a clear-cut ‘nuts’ type hand.  What if the board had 4 hearts and was a paired board.  He has the A of hearts, makes a bet, I raise with the K of hearts and he turns over his hand without saying call?  In this case he had the best hand, but if he realized I raised there was a good chance he was beat and he might have folded.  I guess if the mistake was caught immediately the dealer can still ask him to make his decision, but in the case above, the action was over — I had turned over my cards (which would have been my mistake), etc., etc., so it really would have been a gray area to assume that he would have called my bet.

Flop or river too soon (before the betting round is complete) are easy to manage but this terrible rule about a turn card too soon (before the betting round is complete): we are suppose to put the wrong turn on the side, let the forgotten players finish their round , then burn & put the river in place of the turn then reshuffle the wrong turn with the deck to put a river without burning at the end …. tssssss … all that only for the turn and only to satisfy the supersticious players ….. tssssss …… come on: DO YOU REALLY APPLY THAT RULE?

Hello: I think my questions here are simple but I would like to be sure to know how it’s really applied in the casinos:

1- The dealer put the flop (cards up) but forgot the burn card? (no bet yet)

2- The dealer put 4 cards up in the flop? (I know the Robert’s answer: take back the flop … but do you really applie it?)

3- The dealer put the turn up but forgot the burn card? (no bet yet)

4- The dealer put the river up but forgot the burn card? (no bet yet)
