Posting the blinds in heads-up play…
Hi everyone,
It happens often that, in the last 3 players remained, the BB is eliminated and the game turns in heads-up play. Now, generally is obvious that when the BB is busted out, the very next hand only the BB is paid. So I used to do, in my poker room, even in these situations when players reduce from 3 to 2.
But the last night, one player complained that as seen he had to pay the BB, the dealer had to post his SB too. I noticed him that actually, the SB was the same payer who paid the SB the last hand also. So, it’d be uncorrect for him to pay the same blind twice in a row, and the rule declares that in the next hand, only the BB is forced to be paid before the flop.
Am I right? Can anyone help me in this topic?
Thanks to everybody and Merry Xmas too ![]()

Hello,
Let’s try to find a “regular” solution about this kind of case (knowing we will allways have to make special decisions):
NLH tournament - 5 players at the turn - pot 700 - player A goes all-in for 500 - B, C & D folds - A (forgetting E) throws his cards faces down in the middle - the dealer reach it quickly before it touch anything (to save it & give it back to A) while E is saying “I call” and push his chips in the middle - E pretend that A folded & ask for the floor … E made absoluely nothing meaning a fold befora A made his mistake … for information : A has the winning hand at 100% (E is drawing dead) …
For me the important point is that A is all-in (if not it would be more simple) … but I hate to have a player eliminated on a stupid error … anyway I’m ready to listen for some of your straight opinion with respect & apply it: should the players be protected or put into their responsabilities of adults … this is the real question!).
Your opinion ?

As reported here at the final table of a tournament (3rd post down, Naum Serafinkoski Eliminated in 7th Place), UTG pushes all-in, it folds around to the BB, thus there is no one else left to act.
BB slowly squeezes one card: “The first card is good!”
UTG: “What is it?”
BB: “It’s the ace of clubs!”
BB checks his other card, alas, he wakes up with rockets, calls, tables his cards, wins the hand and eliminates his opponent in 7th place. TD steps in and issues BB with a one orbit penalty for discussing the contents of his hole cards during the middle of a hand, that is, with action still pending.
What do you think of this ruling? There has been some discussion on this, including a response from the very experienced TD, here.

New to game. In heads up play is the dealer always the small blind and acts first?

If there are two players left on a tournament, one goes all in the other folds, do we still have to go to a showdown?

one night in our casino was a player who exposed his cards every time when was heads-up and his opponent was on all-in?
these was his way to see opponent:s rection on his cards.
what if opponent was thinking that HE(player who expose his cards) alled his bet, and turned his cards face up?
is there any rule about showing cards?

Hello,
Even if I don’t pretend (at all) to have the final word & solution on the following cases, I like to have a straight technic to find the solution QUICKLY … because I have to work with it NOW … and I don’t have the right as TD to look confused in front of the dealers & players!
BUT: I’m open to all the pro advices & I stay able to change my mind and to change the rules solutions … BUT ONLY BETWEEN TWO EVENTS: SURE NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ACTION! LOL!
Here they are (waiting for your advices):
1) Heads up at the river: A bets - B goes all-in - A shows immediatly his cards saying “I think I won” (strong hand but not the nuts) - Immediatly B shows his cards showing a strong but loosing hand THEN REALISE THAT PLAYER A NEVER TOLD HIS BETTING and he (B) calls for the floor!
For me: the fault his on B: he should have call the floor WHILE HIDDING HIS HAND and asking for A to be penalised for “showing his hand” and to force him to make a clear CALL or FOLD (wich I would apply as floor). But BECAUSE B SHOWS HIS HAND TOO: I will still put a penalty on A BUT the hand must be finished that way (so I suppose A will declare a CALL for sure!).
2) (similar & conclusion of the gringer-nguyen case) Heads up at the river: A bets 500 - B says clearly “raise” - the dealer makes an error and says “call” - so immediatly A shows his hand (any good hand but not the nuts) - B calls for the floor & ask for his rights!
For me: even if the big fault his on the dealer (he sure should apologize): like the rule of the killed hand (by a dealer) I think it’s the own player to FOLLOW THE GAME and not to be fool by nothing & nobody! So for me B MUST raise (because he annouced it) BUT CAN RAISE FREE from the minimum (1000) to the maximum (all-in)!
3) Heads up at the river (a pot around 500): A bets 500 (pot size) then immediatly answer to a phone call (still sitting at his place) - the dealer kills his hand immediatly (before any move from B) - (point: don’t blame my dealer: they are very straight on this and I support them!) - B pretends to win all the pot plus the last 500 and they both call for the floor!
For me: I apply the same rule as the accidental killed hand rule: B wins the pot but because the last bet of A (500) had not been yet payed when the dealer made his decision: A can recover his 500!
Any opinion?
GG
